The Burton adventure begins here! Build your own Burton, just the way you want it. We have warehouses full of parts, but we like it just as much when are creative yourself and design or customize things. To help you on your way, you'll find the different possibilities below. Because whether you start with a rusty 2CV or rather start with a kit with remanufactured and new parts, in the end it has to be your Burton.

Choose your own color!

There are enough boring grey cars driving around already, so have fun with one of the 216 RAL colours. And if that's hard for you to choose, you can get each body part in a different colour. A two-tone Burton with the body and fenders in a different colour? Or extra racy with a black bonnet? You choose and we'll arrange it.

WICH LOOK DO YOU LIKE?

Do you go for the classic look with the long, wavy fenders or sporty with the small, much simpler ones? You can even combine them, small in the front and big in the back. The choice is yours.

CLASSIC | FRONT

Give your Burton a classic look with these classic looking long fenders. The most popular option for a Burton.

SPORT | FRONT/REAR FENDERS

Are you going for the ‘sport’ look? Then you have the choice to take the cycle wings. These can be used in the front but also as rear fenders. Ideal when you want to build a sporty version.

CLASSIC | REAR

Are you going for the classic look? Then these rear fenders are the most logical choice in combination with the classic long front fenders. These rear fenders can also be combined with the sporty cycle wing front fenders, something for everyone!

WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST?

We are used to say: “All roads lead to Rome.” Wich means that A Burton can be built in various ways. On the one hand, we have the builders who prefer to be up to their ears in grease and who wash their hands before they pee instead of after. On the other hand, we have the builders who leave the technique for what it is and use the Burton Body as an empty canvas to let lose all their fantasies. If you identify yourself as a bit of both worlds, maybe the second option suits you?

USED -2CV

For the DIY’er who likes to take things apart just as much as building, who washes his hands before peeing instead of after. Start with a discarded and unrestored 2CV -which we may have in front of you- and give it a second life as Burton. That way, you'll get to know the technique, enjoy the building process of your Burton even longer and you'll be recycling sustainably. And if you come across parts that are really worn to be re-used, we have new parts for you. Fun, frustration and satisfaction guaranteed.

A BIT OF BOTH

Can't you get it over your heart to dismantle a discarded Ugly 2CV? Then you can leave that to us, too. We have warehouses full of parts and a team of 2CV freaks who know every bolt. On the assembly line they overhaul engine blocks, gearbox axles and carburettors. Start with a brand new and galvanized chassis and build it up with the components you want. Everything new or a mix of old and new, it's up to you.

COMPLETE CHASSIS WITH LICENSE PLATE

Are you more of an artist than a technician? Do you see the Burton as an empty canvas on which you can indulge yourself, but do you really have no idea what to use a box of spark plug sparks for? Leave the technical work to us and order a complete chassis with a Dutch license plate. Then you can have fun on the body and accessories.

CHASSIS,

START WITH A GOOD BASE, START WITH A NEW CHASSIS

A good basis ensures a good start and a good finish of the build. The chassis of the Burton is 60% of the car, so it is important to have it in good condition. There is nothing more annoying then to disassemble the Burton if it turns out that the chassis is not solid enough during the MOT. In order to get off to a good start and in order to reach the finish, three different types of chassis can be used.

CATAPHORESIS

This 2CV chassis fits the same as the original chassis. The chassis has been treated with cataphoresis. This electrostatic lacquer provides a good coverage because the chassis is immersed in the paint bath. It is advisable to give the hollow spaces an anti-rust treatment once a year to prevent corrosion from the inside. This chassis is seen as original replacement part in The Netherlands, check your local regulations what applies to you.

CATAPHORESIS + ANTI-RUST

This 2CV chassis fits the same as the original chassis. The chassis has been treated with cataphoresis. This electrostatic lacquer has a good coverage because the chassis is immersed in the paint bath. This chassis has also had internal tectyl treatment and is thus protected against internal corrosion. It is advisable to repeat this tectyl treatment once a year. This chassis is seen as original replacement part in The Netherlands, check your local regulations what applies to you.

GALVANISED

This 2CV chassis fits the same as the original chassis. This chassis is thermally galvanized, making it very well protected against corrosion. The chassis is immersed so that it can sink into the hollow spaces. This also makes it difficult to access areas. Due to the galvanization, the chassis is maintenance free, it does not have to painted. This chassis is seen as original replacement part in The Netherlands, check your local regulations what applies to you.

DRIVETRAIN,

DO YOU PREFER CLEAN OR DIRTY HANDS?

Are you eager to take the engine and gearbox apart? To discover what is hidden on the inside of the drivetrain? And replace parts where necessary, only to hear the engine running again after 20 years? Or would you rather opt for a plug and play option in the form of a complete reconditioned drivetrain?

RE-USE YOUR DRIVETRAIN

Tinkering with a 2CV engine is nice: the technology is simple and you can access everything easily. If the engine and gearbox of your donor 2CV are still in reasonable condition, you can choose to rebuild it yourself. We have plenty of parts in stock and we can also help you with the adjustment of your self-assembled pride.

RECONDITIONED ENGINE

Burton Car Company has one of the best 2CV overhaul workshop in the world. Under our brand name ‘Burton 2CV parts’ we overhaul a range of 2CV parts, including 2CV engines. Completely reconditioned engine including the following new components: valves, pistons and cylinders, seals, oil cooler, oil pipe, and more. Cylinder heads are reconditioned with new valve and valve stem guides, a reconditioned camshaft and crankshaft are mounted. Burton Car Company is committed to provide top quality products. That goes for all our reconditioned parts for the Burton aswell. To guarantee the quality of our remanufactured products they are tested individually. These parts will leave our reconditioning shop only after a extensive test. That way we can offer product that are almost plug-and-play, which we are happy to provide with 2 years full warranty

RE-USE YOUR AXLES

Let a phoenix rise from your old axles. With our replacement parts you can start rebuilding your front and rear axles yourself. Ofcourse you are welcome in advance to assess with us what needs to be done with your axles. If you are looking forward to certain jobs, we can do them for you, such as replacing the king pins.

RECONDITIONED FRONT-AXLE

Completely reconditioned front axle. Treated with RX-5 and RX-10, for a nice finish and rust protection. New parts also include: a reconditioned steering rack, new suspension arm bearings, new wheel bearings, new king pins and new track rod sleeves. We've build this axle to make it plug- and play, jobs like adjusting the wheel alignment only can be done when you installed the axle on your car.

RECONDITIONED REAR-AXLE

Completely reconditioned rear axle with wish suspension arms. The rear axle and arms are treated with RX 5 and RX 10, for a nice looking and rust proof finish. New parts fitted include: suspension arm bearrings, wheel bearrings, brake shoes, brake cylinders, stainless steel brake pipes, and all seals and dust covers. We've build this axles to make it plug- and play.

There are multiple ways to construct the Burton you dream of.

MINIMALISTIC

Are you satisfied with the essentials and do you want to drive in the purest possible form? Is it a challenge for you to build a Burton as cheaply as possible? Use as many parts of your donor as possible and build your Burton in a minimalistic way. Choose for example a low windscreen, a simple interior and the standard rims for maximum fun with a minimal budget.

REGULAR

Anyone can build a Burton, especially if you opt for mostly new and reconditioned parts. Build your Burton step by step and dress it with the many beautiful parts from our assortment. Beautifully stitched skai leather upholstery, beautiful dashboard and sport rims, we have it for you. We have enough choice to make your Burton one-of-a-kind.

YOUR VISION

Make it up and build it. Whether you want to install a supercharger or have decided that you want to make your Burton suitable for a trip around the world, we just always support it! BURTON SPORT RIMS

Our own design! Inspired by rims from the 30's, think of the rims of a Bugatti Type 35. The rims will fit a 2CV hub without adapters. The rims are slightly wider than a standard 2CV rim, resulting in a nice powerful rim for under your Burton. To order in all RAL colors or with a chrome finish!

ALUMINIUM RIM

This design is based on vintage racing wheels from the 50's and 60's. The rims are completely made of blank aluminium and consist of 2 parts. Because the rims are made of aluminium, they weigh a lot less than original wheels.

2CV RIM

The standard simple rim. For if you like simplicity and a minimalist style. Possibly to be fitted with a small wheel cap. Very nice classic, especially in combination with whitewall tires.

ROOFS,

FOR DAILY USE

HARDTOP

Are you planning on driving your Burton all year round? Or planning a winter drive? Then consider our hardtop, equipped with gullwing doors! Ideal during the winter months. The hardtop is equipped with doors like the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. These make entry easier when the hardtop is mounted. The hardtop is equipped with side windows from the 2CV which give enough overview all around. No more excuses about bad weather, with a hardtop you can brave weather with your Burton.

SOFTTOP

Prepared on the road? Then consider our soft top, which keeps you dry even during the most heavy showers. The soft top is easy to assemble and store in the boot. We prefer to drive with an open top, but a sofftop is a good option to have when the weather takes a turn for the worse. Available in a high and a low version (can only be used with a high windscreen).
